The Centre will collaborate both globally and locally with academia, industry, and research institutions, equipping students, professionals, and researchers with the expertise required to address today's and tomorrow's complex cybersecurity challenges. In doing so, it aims to contribute to a safer digital world. Its efforts will span multiple sectors, tackling critical security challenges in industries such as finance, healthcare, automotive, and electronics.

Key research, industry, and government partners of CyStar include the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, the Ministry of Education, Vitesco Technologies, Kaspersky, IDBI Bank, LG India, Saptang Labs, Algorand, the Indo-French Centre for the Promotion of Advanced Research, and the National Security Coordination Secretariat, among others.

Elaborating on the Centre's functions, Prof. Shweta Agrawal said, "We are delighted to launch this Centre, which will bring together experts from diverse domains to study the complex field of cybersecurity. Our approach is multifaceted, encompassing contributions ranging from fundamental research to real-world applications, fostering start-ups, and everything in between."

Prof. John Augustine added, "India is a federal country with a vast array of highly distributed social and business networks, each with unique security needs. CyStar's vision is to empower individuals within this ecosystem to secure their lives and businesses through platforms designed with security, trust, and reliability in mind."

Prof. Chester Rebeiro emphasized, "CyStar aims to address critical cybersecurity challenges in the country through both fundamental and applied research, outreach programs, and by fostering strong industry-academia collaborations."

Keynote speakers at the event included Prof. Shafi Goldwasser, Research Director at the Simons Institute and Professor at MIT; Prof. Debdeep Mukhopadyay, Chair Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, IIT Kharagpur; Prof. Christian Scheideler, Head Professor, Theory of Distributed Systems, Paderborn University; and Dr. Damien Stehlé, Chief Scientist at Cryptolab Inc.
