Given the emergence and importance of unmanned aerial systems (UAS) in todays civilian and military landscape, the department has been actively working on utilizing UAS for answering pertinent scientific questions, and in improving specific subsystem and vehicular technology, such as the propeller and powertrain. Unique perspectives regarding the end user requirements are provided by the various professors of practice in the department.
