A webinar to popularize GFL among the general public and other stakeholders was conducted on 30th November 2023. This was part of the second edition of IITM Research Initiatives webinar series.

Prof. Manikandan, the principal investigator of GFL, gave a brief overview of the centre. This was followed by an interactive session with the investigators of GFL from IITM and abroad as the panel members. Over 150 participants attended the webinar. The discussions were moderated by Prof. Eric D’Asaro of the University of Washington.

Geophysical Flow Lab (GFL) was introduced to the public as part of the IRIS webinar series on earth sciences on 28th September 2021. The webinar was well-attended and sparked several discussions. The queries and questions were clarified by the panel members – the investigators of GFL – and were moderated by Prof. Eric D’Asaro, a senior and well-known principal oceanographer.
