Schedule of Movies
In a year, about 50 regular movies are screened by the Film Club.
Historically, we used to show mostly English movies.
Currently, due to popular demand, only half the movies are in english and the remaining half are in hindi, tamil and other regional languages.
- First Saturday of the month: Hindi Movie.
- Second and Fourth Saturdays of the month: English Movie
- Third Saturday of the month: (8 Tamil, 2 Telugu, 1 Malayalam, 1 Kannada): One Malayalam movie in August; One kannada movie in February; Two Telugu movies (April and October); Remaining eight months, it will be Tamil movies
- We will skip the english movies during Saarang/Shaastra if OAT is being used on a Saturday for events. Hindi and Tamil movies will not be skipped. For the month of Saarang/ Shaastra schedule will be announced in the beginning of the month.
Another 6-10 movies are screened by various associations/ organizations on campus like Mutthamizh Mandram, Kerala Kala Samithi, Telugu Samskritika Samiti etc. (typically on Fridays).
Though film club helps them in getting permission from known distributors, it is really organized by the respective associations and they take care of announcements and publicity.
